I joined TriN8 after having an operation on my back around four years’ ago, wanting a concentrate on my swimming and strengthen my core and back. I struggled to do more than a few lengths of front crawl then. Barring Covid, swimming twice a week most weeks since, I have gained confidence in the water, improved my fitness and learnt techniques that have developed my stamina for the open water. And I rarely get back pain anymore. I completed the 5k Dock to Dock swim last year with some other TriN8 members and this year took on two swim challenges – 24 hour swim relay with a team of 8 from TriN8 and the Dart 10k. Unfortunately the Dart swim was cancelled but my training with Mihai and Anna has enabled me to take on these challenges and sustain my training, going on long distance swims with confidence and continual encouragement. I have also been able to get back to some running.
TriN8 are also a really great bunch of people and we have a lot of fun together!
